Yael is an Italian artist of North African descent. She grew up in a visually abundant environment that shaped her love for composition, aesthetics, and visual arts. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the European Institute of Design in Rome, and a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema from San Francisco State University. Yael is a multi-faceted artist whose work spans across sculpture, design, immersive installations, and cinema: her multidisciplinary background informs her current ceramic work.

In 2021 she received the Multicultural Fellowship Award from the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA). Her work has been exhibited in Museums and Art Galleries in the United States and Japan, and is also part of permanent collections in the United States. She has been a Ceramic Artist in Residence in the United States (Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Starworks Ceramics) and in Japan (Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park).
